Eco-friendly disposal of hazardous medical waste in the cross-border region (Medical Waste)
Estonia – Latvia – Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme within the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007-2013 financially supports joint cross border development activities for the improvement of the region’s competitiveness by utilising its potential and beneficial location on the crossroads between the EU and Russian Federation.
Overall objective
To decrease environmental risks in the cross-border region of North-West Russia and North-East Estonia by way of ensuring effective separation, neutralization and disposal of hazardous and infectious medical waste.
Ohtlike meditsiiniliste jäätmete keskkonnasõbralik utiliseerimine piiriüleses regioonis
2013. aasta juunikuus allkirjastati Euroopa Naabrus- ja Partnerlusinstrument raames rakendatava Eesti-Läti-Venemaa piiriülese koostööprogrammi ühise korraldusasutuse poolt toetusleping projekti „Eco-friendly disposal of hazardous medical waste in the cross border region“ (Ohtlike meditsiiniliste jäätmete keskkonnasõbralik utiliseerimine piiriüleses regioonis) elluviimiseks.
Projekt kestus on 25 kuud. Projekti raames luuakse majanduslikult efektiivsed meditsiiniliste jäätmete kahjutustamiskeskused kahes piiriüleses regioonis paiknevas haiglas: Slantsõ ja Ida-Viru Keskhaiglas.
Koostööprojekti elluviimist rahastatakse 90% ulatuses ENPI Eesti-Läti-Venemaa piiriülese koostöö programmist. Projekti kogumaksumus on 456 000 €.
